We discussed previously that anybody who can write can make money online; now, while this is the most important factor to consider when taking on professional blogging as a job, you have to remember that unless you’re actually selling something via your blog, plain writing and marketing won’t earn you as much as other means of making money through the Internet will.
In other words, you have to “sell” your site. Now, before you jump up and complain about the negative connotations of this word, relax and think of what this course of action will imply:
- Firstly, you need to find a way to make earning through your blog possible. This will entail a decently sized group of followers, constant blog upkeep, and high market value – we’re talking about Google page rank here, although that’s pretty much become an indefinite determinant of how functional your blog is.

As was previously stated in another post, there’s a huge market for bloggers with selling potential out there – you just need to find the services that will work for you. Whether you choose to make money with affiliate programs, through outright advertising, through pay-per-click campaigns or through providing a viral marketing outlet for a client, the bottom line is you have to choose your destiny, so to speak.
- Remember that no matter which path you take, the benefits start coming in after a little bit of hard work, so you won’t really be making money online now. A little bit of patience on your part will make things easier for you, so just sit back and do what you need to do. Eventually, if you work hard enough, all your efforts should pay off.
